WESTFIELD, MA. – Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) officials announced changes today in the operation of Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) in Hampden and Worcester Counties.

There are eight DRCs currently open, connecting disaster applicants with state and federal specialists to help survivors start their recoveries.

All DRCs are open this week, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. EDT Monday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. EDT Friday.

The DRCs in Sturbridge, Wilbraham and Westfield will permanently close at 4 p.m. EDT on Friday, July 1.

The remaining DRCs will be closed on July 2, 3 and 4 for the holiday weekend.

Beginning Tuesday, July 5, DRC hours will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

At the DRCs, applicants can meet with specialists from FEMA, the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency, the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Additionally, representatives from several state and voluntary agencies can answer questions and provide assistance.

Federal assistance does not end when the DRCs close. Help is still just a phone call or mouse click away.
