Emergency HUD Assistance for HomeownersThe U.S. Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has a new $1 Billion program for homeowners who are at least 90 days late on their mortgage as of June 1, 2011, unemployed or working fewer hours because of the economy or a medical condition. The Emergency Homeowners Loan Program (EHLP) can provide eligible homeowners with assistance that will cover arrearages AND pay a portion of their monthly mortgage for up to two years or up to $50,000. SpringfieldNHS has been chosen to help implement HUD’s Emergency Homeowners Loan Program in Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin Counties. Funds allocated for this program must be expended by September 30, 2011 and due to the very tight timeframe for enrollment, strategic – and expedient, outreach, is necessary. So we need your help to help hundreds of others. Folks should call 366-1389 or visit our website (www.Springfieldnhs.org) , where they can get the applications etc. |
