at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read. Bid documents and specifications will be available at no charge through two channels beginning Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 9:00 AM:
1. Online at www.comm-pass.com by selecting the Solicitation tab and using the Browse All Open by Entity (City of Springfield) option at any time 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
2. In person at the Office of Procurement, 36 Court Street, Room 307, Springfield, MA 01103 during normal business days, Monday through Friday between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM. Please refer to the bid number and the opening date when inquiring. This bid is subject to M.G.L. c. 30 39M.
The department of Capital Asset Construction requires price agreement contracts with qualified bidders for the acquisition of sitework contractor services. The resulting contract will be the primary contract used by the City's Department of Capital Asset Construction and Department of Parks, Buildings, and Recreaction Management for goods and services covered by the contract. The City retains the option to renew any resulting contracts for another two one-year terms. The City intends to award contracts to several vendors for sitework contractor services listed in the specifications. The estimated cost is $1,000,000.00.
The work of this contract is governed by the prevailing wage rate schedule in the specifications. All bidders are advised that the City of Springfield encourages the use of minority and women owned business enterprises (MWBE) and expects a good faith effort to comply with the City's goal of twenty (20%) MWBE participation.
The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
