Find out about the  State Requirements when selling a one- or two-family residence. The regulations vary based on the age of the house.

Open Burning is Prohibited in Springfield

Open burning is prohibited in the City of Springfield as well as the use of chimeneas and fire pits. There are no circumstances under which it is legal to burn grass, hay, leaves, stumps or construction debris. Outdoor burning is allowed for cooking purposes only if small in nature and does not result in a nuisance call to the fire department. If the fire department responds the fire shall be extinguished.
