Summer Enrichment ProgramsIt's That Time Again!Springfield’s Park and Recreation Division is offering fun-filled, challenging, hands-on, project-based enrichment programs for Springfield residents that will allow your child to use their imagination, try new things and make new friends. These activities include: language arts, math, arts and culture, technology, science, engineering, health and fitness, leadership, community service, recreation and sports. * Funding for these summer enrichment programs is made possible through the MA Department of Elementary & Secondary Education 21st Century Community Learning Center grant and from a Community Development Block Grant. Please Note: Registration is FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED! Please arrive early the day of registration for there are limited slots available at each program site. To enter Forest Park, you must pay an entrance fee of $3.00, unless you have a season pass (Season passes $13.00 for Springfield residents). 4 WEEK PROGRAMS - $35 FOR THE FIRST CHILD. EACH ADDITIONAL CHILD IS $105 WEEK PROGRAMS - $50 FOR THE FIRST CHILD. EACH ADDITIONAL CHILD IS $10

"On The Wilder Side"If you are looking for a fun-filled out-of-the-ordinary experience, this adventure program is just right for you and promises to be EXTRA-ordinary! There will be five, one-week sessions that include team building games and challenges, kayaking, fishing, swimming, treasure hunts, hiking, snorkeling, survival skills and out-of-the-box adventure! This year’s lineup has a ropes challenge course to add even more excitement and challenges to your wilder experience! From beginner to expert level, you will learn new skills while exploring fun ways of helping each other AND our environment. Come uncover the REAL you in this unique program of self esteem and competence building. So c’mon…take a week on the wilder side…or take two! The Recreation Division of the Department of Parks, Buildings and Recreation Management runs 12, afterschool programs at six elementary and six middle schools located throughout the city and funded by the Springfield Public Schools and the Massachusetts Department of Education's 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) grant. Camp STAR Angelina Universal Master PlanSpringfield's 375th Anniversary![]() Springfield is celebrating big time. Public skatingPublic skating is offered at Cyr Arena in Forest Park on Friday and Saturday evenings from 7:00 p.m. – 8:50 p.m. and Sundays from 2:00 p.m. – 3:50 p.m. beginning on Friday, October 12. There is a $5.00 admission fee ($3.00 for youth) and a $4.00 skate rental fee. Birthday parties may be scheduled please call 787-6438 after 4:00 p.m. for booking and fee information.
