Grants

Grants are critical part of any police department. Each year Law Enforcement Agencies are awarded grants for many basic operating costs, new technology, special projects, terrorism support, and other critical operations. Sgt. Brian Elliott manages the responsibilities for the SPD to obtain various grants from the Federal, State, and Local government agencies as well as private foundations and organizations.

The SPD will be applying for the Byrne grant opportunity again which supports a number of on-going programs, including a technology upgrade.  Details of the guidelines are contained in the PDF.  A draft of the grant proposal is here.

This year’s application will include the area of Equipment and/or Information Technology. We will be holding (3) meetings to discuss the matter.  Anyone who has interest in and/or wishes to comment on the grant process may contact Sgt. Brian Elliott: 413-787-6318
