Mayor Domenic J. Sarno issued today a congratulatory message to Christian Wilkins of the Clemson University Tigers football team. On Monday, Wilkins, a Springfield native, helped steer Clemson to a win over the University of Alabama in the 2019 National College Football Championship game.
Mayor Sarno stated, “I’m so proud of our Springfield native, award winning and two time national champion defensive lineman Christian Wilkins. This young man is a class act both on and just as importantly, off the field. Congrats again to Christian, his mom Ms. Robin Stamps Jones and family. Continued success as he now moves to play on ‘Sundays’ in the NFL.”
